In the various jobs I have held over the years, a continual thread has been a passion to help people thrive. My previous career as a Christian Pastor allowed me to help people in significant ways, as well as to develop a wide range of both professional and soft skills. In my role as a teacher this passion continues to motivate me to help each student find success in both their academic life and personal life. This passion leads me to connect and collaborate with colleagues as well as the broader community in ways that contribute to the good of all.

In my role as a dad to four children I am continually learning, adapting and changing how I respond so that I can help them develop and grow. Twenty years of marriage have also developed and equipped me to commit to doing what is best for my students while also being intentional to care for myself and others.

Interests I have pursued such as music, cooking, sports and gardening provide rich resources that I use to help engage students and make cross-curricular connections in the classroom. They also help provoke me to be continually learning and exploring, and to encourage my students to do the same.
